Dr. Peter R. Bono
is the President of Peter R. Bono Associates, Inc.
His current development activities use his vast experience in user-interface
design and software project management to design and implement web-related
applications like corporate portals (both intranet and extranet) and web
services. His past consulting activities
have encompassed mobile and wireless applications, collaborative computing,
data mining, data visualization, and general volume visualization. He has hands-on familiarity with Visual
Studio.NET, ASP.NET, Borland Delphi, Microsoft C#, Web Services, HTML, DHTML, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, Active Server Pages,
PHP, XML, and SQL (including mySQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle SQL).
Recent clients include Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA),
Command Technology, Inc.,
Mitsubishi Electric Research Corp., and Pfizer, Inc.
He served as Chairman of the US Computer Graphics Standards Committee (X3H3)
from 1979 to 1994 and as Chief Delegate for the
Dr. Bono received his A.B. cum laude in Mathematics from
From 1993-1997, Dr. Bono served as Vice President and Head of the Global
Visualization Services Department of the Fraunhofer Center for Research in
Computer Graphics, Inc., a not-for-profit research institute located close to
Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode
Island.
Dr. Bono's research interests include collaboration,
knowledge acquisition and data mining, and scientific
and data visualization, including volume visualization for medical
applications. Dr. Bono is a member of ACM, ACM-SIGGRAPH, IFIP, and Eurographics. He served as twelve years as an
elected member of the Eurographics Executive Committee, representing all
members residing in countries outside
In 1989, Dr. Bono
received NCGA's Award for the Advancement of
Standards in Computer Graphics.
